Born 1973 in Athens, Greece, where he lives and works.

Nikolakopoulos in his work is interested in the notion of “discontinuity”, where things are not formed through a smooth and regular stream but from different interferences or random parameters such as accidental events, time, conflicts and mistakes. Discontinuity disrupts normality and the “paralytic” consensus of the affluent society. Through this notion, imagination and critical thinking are stimulated, preparing the ground for social claims and revolts.

His work has been shown in numerous shows:

Oblique, Operation Room, Istanbul, (TR, 2018), PIIGS, An Alternative Geography of Curating, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in collaboration with NEON organization, Turin (IT, 2016); Apparent Void, Analix Forever, Geneva (CH, 2016); PARÉIDOLIE, Salon international du dessin contemporain à Marseille, presented by Analix Forever, France (FR, 2016); Massage the History, Historical testimonies and artistic practice, Contemporary Greek Art Institute (GR, 2016); Neighbours, Istanbul Modern (TR, 2014); A Rock and A Hard Place, 3rd Thessaloniki Biennale (GR, 2011); Aftermath, 25th Alexandria Biennial, Egypt (EG, 2009); Personal-Political, State Museum of Contemporary Art, Greece (GR, 2009); Heterotopias, 1st Biennale of Thessaloniki, Greece (GR, 2007); Drawing Screen, Museum of Cinema, Greece (GR, 2006)
